Pretty good A to B pass for first round of qualifying, but!…….

Car was lazy, did not feel good at all!…. Then i felt it started to miss fire a bit and then more and more and it felt tired all the way to the finish line…

I got a puff of smoke in the finish line that was the oil suction fitting that got cracked… But the belly pan did work like it should and kept the oil of the track and when looking at the graph the oil pressure was still OK! So like it looks we just need to change the fitting, clean and check bearings to be safe!

And for the second time in two weekends I got one of the chutes tangled up in the rear axle…. Don’t think that the wind after the finish line in the shut down are here at Santa Pod and my aerodynamic body likes to play together!….?

Time for some service and see if we did hurt something except the chute around the rear axle, brake hoses, wirings etc… And then service of the motor and make it ready for the second qualification round around 10:30!

But right now, some really late lunch!..

And also, enough of bad stuff for this weekend now!…

Let’s do this!!

Let’s see if I have figured out the track together with some trans ratio changes and some ignition problems we found during the week that we now have solved!… 🙂

It’s Friday and time for the first qualification round in about 3.5 hour from now!

Nice program for The Main Event here at Santa Pod!

Almost ready for a warm up!

First breakfast!

It’s warm and sunny here today! =D

Today’s plan was a shower and early to bed, well… of course it did not turn out that way!….

Instead Lenco madness!… I was about to change a gear set for first round tomorrow and instead it turned out as a repair, build and service night!

Less then 12 hours to qualification round 1 at The Main Event! 🙂

Me, Sofi and dad have spent the week here between the races to service the car have some vacation, well Sofi have been working on distance also during work hours.

Almost ready to race again!

Sofi have cleaned up the rear end after a couple of looong burnouts, doesn’t it look great!? =D

Valves are checked.

Rings, bearings, wrist pins and pistons looks great! Just changed rods because it was time for it!

I like to control measure stuff! 🙂

Dad is doing his thing!

The rack is ready to get back in!

The conventional Chevy Big Block heads are back on!

It starts to look like a motor again!

Now, time to look over the transmission and do some tuning for tomorrow’s first qualification round!

When being a low budget team and having big dreams with what you want to achieve you need to make sure you are able to repair whatever you might hurt when you can’t afford buying spare parts and having them ready to be safe…

Thanks to Martin Lundquist at Autocut for helping me get my idea to a real thing, draw and water cut out some metal pieces for me so I could make me a fixture for our Mira valve seat cutter tool so I’m able to cut / change the valve seats in our conventional Chevrolet Big Block heads when we hurt something in them out on the track!!

Now we didn’t hurt them but with a lot of time between the races here at the track we of course serviced them to be like new again for this coming record setting weekend when we are going to improve our 6.04 pass at The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway when we are racing in the 1/4 mile Top Doorslammer class!!

Must go faster! 😉

Spending the day here at a sunny Santa Pod Raceway with a beer or maybe two 😉 Putting on sponsor and partner decals on the trailer to show who the companies and people are that making this possible for us to do!

Can’t thank you enough, a huge thanks for being a part of the Sjödin Motorsport / ÅBM Racing team! 🙂

Without you all we would never be here at Santa Pod right now and never been able the get the chance to try setting a world record with our car and motor combination! We are doing this together as a big family! =D

Looking good, right?

Today after a long well needed night of sleep dad took the motor apart and everything looks really good so far!

Now I know that I can add more power and that means that we are able to go faster with the Chevelle and it’s only 4 days until we are racing again at The Main Event here at Santa Pod Raceway! =D

She is still happy after what we succeed during the weekend here at The Doorslammers at Santa Pod Raceway!

Everything looks goooood! 🙂

Dinner time at a sunny Santa Pod Raceway!
