Looking bad…

Plan was that we would get one more qualifying round today and then the rain started again… 🙁

We can’t be loud here after 6:00… Feels stupid because it’s warm and sunny here right now…

Rain….

And the sun is shining….

And the ground is dry again….

Yeah baby! 4.08 straight off the trailer!!

About 3 hours delayed round due to a couple of clean ups, some rain when we were standing in the line up and the first pair was about to fire up…

But I’m satisfied as hell anyway, a quick pedaling because the cal felt loose and started to fishtailing a bit… But we ended up with a 4.08@293km/g anyway!!! And also a new personal best to 60ft with a 0.98s!! 😀

Feels so fucking good that I finally found some kind of baseline and the car repeats and listen to what I tell it!!! 🙂

Now some service of this evil girl! I hope we will get one more round today but I really don’t think so because of all delays we got during this day!….

I’m on the entry list for Speedevents Internationals, June 12-15 2025! At Tierp Arena! 🤠
TD round 1 in the series and first outing for Sjödin Motorsport / ÅBM Racing in 2025! 😎

Do I know today that I will have received the crankshaft in time? NO! 😅
So we can get our engine back together and make some passes? DONT KNOW! 😬

Do I have a plan and want to be there? YES! 😎🥳
Will I work for it if I get the crankshaft in time? YES! 💪🏻😎

Do I do stuff every day to get closer to finished? YES! 🔧🔩🚙

Is it still a lot of work to do on and around the race car, trailer and truck? YES! 😅
Do we need to organize and prepare a lot of things to make it work for real when we get to the track? YES WE DO! 😅

Thing is, I have a goal! I know what I want! I have a plan! Will it work out like I want? Don’t know, future will tell! 🧐
And if it does not work? Well, shit happens! 🙃

But why wait on something if you know what you wanna do? As a race fan I want to know what happens with teams when I can’t see them at the track! Same thing when it comes to the race tracks and organizers, they want to know also! Try to do something and make dragracing better again, for EVERYONE! 🤩

It’s less than 40 days to race start, time to get stuff done! 👌🏻 No half assing around here! 🤘🏻 Stay focused! 👀🕺🏻

Details MATTERS!!! 😎🤩

For me my race car is my hot rod, if it doesn’t look good I’m not happy with it! 🙊
Some people don’t mind taking their dirt track car to the drag strip but I do!… 😅

Me and dad took out the rear windows in the body so I could fresh up the black painted border around the windows to make it look like it once did! 🤩 I did not like that the old paint started to come lose…

Best thing would have been installing new windows like I’m about to do on the front side windows and windshield, BUT… There is some sentimental decals of a hero of mine that can’t be replaced… Kenta Persson is a guy I did look up to as a little boy and then when I got older and did spend some time with him as a friend he became an even bigger hero to me! 😃 Then we lost him because of his sickness.. 🙄 He have been with me for pretty much every pass I done in the car, so I must keep the decals / windows. 😊

Then we changed out some old worn bad looking decals, dad have made some new fuel hoses, I did clean the engine block so it’s ready to assemble whenever it’s time for it! 🙃

I did some check up on the rear part of the body and we got it back in place on the chassis again! 👌🏻🥳

Then I cleaned out the shop to be able to work during daytime! 😅

So right now the part under the cover is pretty much done to make a pass, just need the right converter and transmission in the car, and get the new side windows and windshield installed! 😃

And then get the new headers welded up, and we are done! 👌🏻

It does not look good when it comes to the crankshaft… But I will continue to get the car ready like I already had it in the shop! 🙃

This past weekend in the shop working on the Cheve

This past weekend in the shop working on the Chevelle was pretty fun, because I did have some company of our new guys in the team! 😃🥳

Peter, our new transmission guy! ⚙️👴🏻⚙️
I have known him for 25 plus years, he did work at a Volvo shop where I got my first (real) job after school! 🥸 I did call him a couple of weeks ago and asked him if he’s interested to spend a lot of time working for free on a race car, and he intermediately said YES! 😁 Good thing about him is that he works as a car mechanic and runs his own shop so even that he never touched a race car like this before he got 45+ years of knowledge working on cars! 👌🏻🔧🔩
That for sure makes it easier learning stuff and he’s not afraid to take things apart and he is ready to spend the hours needed to be as good as he can! 🙏🏻 He did spent one long evening and then whole Saturday and Sunday in the shop with me as a teacher in “Lenco Transmission School” it turned out great, he’s been a part of 3 transmissions already and 1,5 of them he did service all by himself with some minor help from me! 🤓 We got one more Lenco to do and then it’s time for the converter and converter drive school! 😁 I’m sure he will be a good add to the team!

Our partner and team member Nicke went by on Saturday and removed the old side windows from the doors and also the windshield so I can finish up the new ones and install them! 🤩

I did finish up the front / reverse lever to the transmission, something I been on my way to do for years!… And now, finally! 😅 After that I did install some more new fuel tuning stuff, did fix up some wiring in the chassis and started to reinstall some components that been out for inspection and cleaning of the part and the chassis! 💎👌🏻

It’s time for a whole weekend with the Chevelle

It’s time for a whole weekend with the Chevelle again! 🥳

Being a one man band most of the days and nights in the shop working and preparing stuff on the race car to get it ready is something I’m pretty used to, especially during off season! ⛄️

But right now that feels more than great compared to the memories I get up from last year’s shit show!.. Absolutely not all of it, but when it comes to get things ready as said and planned. 👎🏻

I’m not here to half ass stuff, when I’m in the shop in here to get stuff done! 👊🏻😎

This coming weekend will be a really good one and I look forward to it, old and new parts of the ÅBM Racing team will be here to learn their positions to move on so we can prepare for the coming season! 😃 And make it work out when we are at the race track! 💪🏻👌🏻
