It’s one hour after midnight and the third member is together, let’s see if it will be able to make more than one pass tomorrow….

Pretty nice evening except for the third member…

Now a couple of hours sleep before it’s time to put the race car together again for E1 around 10:30…

Pretty happy and exited just before the pass! 🙂

There is still a track issue I guess, car went a little bit longer today because I was easier on the timing and ramped it in a little bit softer. 60ft is good with a 0.97s but it started going into shake again around 2-2.2 seconds. Today I did keep the pedal down a bit longer but the car started to move around too much so I let off the throttle…. ended up with a 4.00s @ 274km/h…

Would have been a pretty good round if I could held the hammer down all the way!… Guess that the problem solver is just to keep the timing out after half track instead so I won’t rip off the track surface…

Again the same thing with the tires, picking up the track and I can see pretty much which part of the tire that was attached to the track during the shake….

Now to the really bad thing….! The rear end gear set was all quiet when pulling back the car to the pits, I did think FINALLY!!! Now we have a fully working rear axle! So I decided to pass qualifying round 5 and take it out just to recheck the backlash and see how the pattern looks.

Right here everything was just fine!..

And when we got the third member out we found that the rear pinion bearing was damaged, it was new yesterday and I have never seen anything like this before…. Good thing is that the ring and pinion still looks good and we are able to use it again! This made us only get one round today, but like it looks right now we will be able to get it back together again with some help from Raymond Blixt, dad and Max are on their way to his shop right now about one hour from the track to borrow tools to change the pinion bearing..

Starting to get really tired of third member and parts issues!….

Well…. We ended up on the number 6 spot with 2 passes that went wrong after 280-300 foot….

Hold your thumbs that we are able to get this race car together again during the night, for the second night in a row working on the third member….

Rolling up for Q3!

Our first round at 11 got cancelled due to the rain this morning, so we will go out at 2 instead for qualifying round number 3!

We are ready and now it’s time for the waiting game!

Rain.

Right now it rains pretty heavy and it’s cold and cloudy…

Stay tuned!

We are Ready för Q3 tomorrow at 11.00, the clock is almost 2 in the morning so it’s sleeping time here at Malmö Raceway!

Sleep tight! 🙂

It wasn’t water on the track when I blew the tires just before half track in Q1, I did pick up the track surface and took it with me… That of course caused me to loose the traction…

Sofi is trying to clean or cut away the rubber from the track surface that got attached to our slicks….

Not good, not good at all!… it’s like someone glued pieces of tires on our slicks…. At least I got a set I can borrow if we can’t get it away….

Dad is working on our third member… trying to get this s….y bad quality piece of s..t ring and pinion to maybe survive the weekend in our car… Guess I just can say good bye to another $1000.

A little bit stressful before the first pass today and we tried to take everything slowly because we are a little short on people and we are trying to work it out and get into our routines like it is with the team we are today and will be in the future!

It started of course to drizzle after the first car made the burn out so the crew shut him off…

My A to B tune worked just like I wanted but all suddenly I spun the tires just before half track and was aiming for the center line and the timing blocks, dad said he could read Swecomposite from the starting line… 😉 First thing I was thinking was water on the track…! I guess I was right because they went out with the tractor and cleaned something after me in my lane, and what ever they cleaned up wasn’t from my car because it’s still in one piece…. =D

I did look for a safe low 4.00… and a 0.98 60ft is a good start to get there…

Now some service of the car and change ring and pinion in the third member, we tried to save the brand new ring and pinion that we did put in to Mantorp that started to make noise… (I thought it looked goofy when we put it in and asked the manufacturer about it and of course they said “it looks good”… boring way to spend $1000…) Really sad that no one are able to make a gear set that will last more than one event…

With this said it means that we will miss Q2 today and be ready for Q3 tomorrow instead!

Oh happy day! 😉 We did just put it in… 🙂

This one is still happy at least! 🙂

From earlier today, when we did put the third member in… 😉
