We are at Tierp Arena!

It’s Thursday at a sunny Tierp Arena, it’s the first day of qualifications in TD round 3 2025!

We arrived yesterday and unloaded at a windy and drizzling / rainy race track, of course! 😉

After some lunch we got our pit area done!

And got the Chevelle inspected and approved! Thanks to Lillgroda Racing for letting us borrow your push car!

Then we got some food, did some final stuff on the car and did have a nice evening! 🙂

After a good nights sleep we got some great breakfast and I have done some more adjustments to the car, we won’t do the first round today because I want to save some rounds on the parts we have! We are scheduled for 4 rounds today and that is A LOT! 😉

Not at all the productive weekend I was planning on this past weekend in the ÅBM shop!… 🤨😴 The working spirit is just as the feeling that we are close to Christmas (2 weeks from now) when it is raining 24/7 and we got 4-10 + degrees Celsius and no snow and it’s soon the middle of December! 😅🙃

But I forced myself to control measure my @cpcarrillo_ rods and pistons to see how they looked after our last outing in August at Tierp Arena! 🤓📐 And they all looked just great / like they always do! 💪🏻👌🏻 And that shows me that I found a tune for the motor that makes it live! 😎 Last time in 2017 when we made a 3.84 pass I did damage 4 pistons, wrist pins and rods! 😅😬 But at that time 8 years ago I did not know or had the knowledge that I have today! 👴🏻 We all learn as long as we live, that’s the best part of life! 🥳

I did also check through the fuel pump and oil pump, after that I did control the main bore and cylinders in the block! All looked good and will be ready to assemble when it’s time for it! 😁

I did also spend the weekend looking at the first race in the @dragillustrated Winter Series at @bradentonmotorsportspark crazy good show as always, getting better and better for every race they do there! 👊🏻

Except that I still haven’t solved the blower issue I have been looking for a main bearing set for our engine, Clevite MS-1732M Main Bearings for BBC/481X that have been impossible to find for over a year now… 🫣

That’s a good thing to have so I can put the engine back together, do you have a set for sale? Let me know! 👌🏻😃

Last weekend we did continue to work on the Chevel

Last weekend we did continue to work on the Chevelle after 4 weeks! 🙃🔧🔩

I let Happy Feet Pete take the engine apart, it’s good that he knows the procedure! Because he will be a really good help in the future getting the Chevelle serviced!

I saw some strange stuff on the crank hub and on the new crankshaft when we took the engine apart so I sent it out for a crack control on Monday!… And I got a result on Wednesday that it was all OK! 😅👌🏻

Me and Nicke did take the rest of the rear axle apart and checked the wheel bearings to make sure all is good!

We “serviced” about 100 liters of engine oil! 👌🏻💎 Oil is expensive and if I can save money boiling out the methanol and then clean it I’m more than happy to do that! 🥳

We also let Nicke be “Kockafan” in the shop! 👨🏼‍🍳 Making some burgers! 🍔🤩 We talked to the real Kockfan on the phone and I’m pretty sure he was a bit jealous that he did miss out spending the weekend with us! 🙄

On Sunday dad came to the shop and had some cylinder head school with Nicke! 😁 its good to have guys in the team that can help out outside of their own position if we need!

Peter spent some hours outside in the cold weather doing some last stuff on the trailer! 🥶 Thanks for that! 😃

So the chassis is inspected and ok, the whole engine is in pieces, so is the converter and the rear axle, only thing left is our transmissions! But first I need to decide what I want to change and after that order the parts for the changes / updates and service parts that we need so we will be ready to whatever the future brings!

But I still don’t have a blower or the fundings to get the old one repaired, do you wanna help out and make sure we will be racing in 2026?

We did also put the body back on the chassis and put a cover on everything, to keep it nice and clean! 👌🏻💎🥳

So, as it looks right now the Chevelle will be sitting for a couple of months now because it’s “done” as far as I can get it for the moment! But we will continue to prepare the stuff around it to be prepared if I find a solution to bring it out in 2026! 🚦🚙💨💪🏻

Wow, time flies! 😅 I saw by a coincidence last

Wow, time flies! 😅

I saw by a coincidence last week that it was 20 years ago since I bought the started race car project that later ended up with the Chevelle! 😳 Well, I at least still have the rear tail lamps on the car! 🙃🤣

It’s also 15 years since I made my first ever test pass with the finished Chevelle 65! 🚙💨😎

10 years ago I bought the trailer and started up the trailer project! 😬🫣

5 years ago the trailer started to get pretty much done, when looking at the big things on it! 😁

This year I kind of made a well needed total overhaul on the Chevelle! To make it work like I want and look new again after all these 15 years of abuse! 😅 And it did pay off, the car is working great and it will be quicker in the future! 🚙💨💪🏻

We also started to make kind of an overhaul on the trailer also because the problems we found with moisture damages!… 🙄👎🏻

I wonder what 5 years from 2025 will bring us!? 🧐

Time will tell! 🫡

This past weekend I finally got the truck and trailer in the winter spot, and made it all ready for the real winter to come! 🥶 It’s getting closer for sure, I assume that the snow and minus degrees are just days away now! 🙈👎🏻 I’m thankful for the early sunset, it’s always funnier to work outside when it’s dark, cold and rainy! 😁 LOL!…

Must say that the trailer looks really bad at the moment, and what a crazy amount of work we will have on it next year! 😑 That SUCKS! 😬 But it is what it is, it won’t get made by itself that’s for sure!… 😅🤣

Trailer junk work, The White Hell is back again pa

Trailer junk work, The White Hell is back again part 2! 😴

One reason to the moisture damages is for sure a leaky roof and a really bad repair work from a ladder that went through the roof when it was all new!… Still wonder who it was that did put the ladder in the place that caused it! 😅🤣 Well, anyway you can see on the pics how it looks when you hire a company to fix it!… 🤨👎🏻

Compared to when two mechanics are doing it, now it’s made to last and we did use fiber glass instead of just a fine filler that you use to take out small dents!… In this case it has cracked and I’m happy that I saw it before the winter when it would have destroyed the trailer even more!…

Then with opening up and sealing of the loose parts on the side walls and removing the bad plywood to let it dry up plus that I have installed an air / moisture dryer that will be going all winter I think it will be ok! Only after about 4 weeks it now starts to look pretty ok, it can only get better!.. I hope! 😅

So, right now I know that we will have a lot to do on the trailer when it starts to get warmer outside again in about 6 months or so!… 😅

And I’m really happy to have Peter that enjoys working with polyester and fiber glass! 😅🙊 And he’s good at it also, that for sure makes me a little bit more positive about this shitty situation!… 🙏🏻

Then thanks to our awesome friends and Åkes Bil & Motor shop customers @bktransportab me and Peter could stay inside in their shop for a weekend (a HUGE thanks for that once again! 🙏🏻❤️) sealing up some stuff and getting some white rubber paint on the roof (thanks to @thorbjorngrundstrom for the paint) to make sure we won’t have any more leaks in the future!

And because of this I already know that we won’t do any crazy things during 2026, we won’t go to England and we will not make any series! We might do a couple of events just to try keep the spirit up, if I find a solution when it comes to the blower.

The Chevelle will be serviced during the winter when we can’t work on the trailer either way, better have it ready just in case, if things turns out better than expected!
